Before heading out into the streets to photograph something or someone, I got a few tips that may help you on your endeavor to create some interesting photographs, rather than just snapshots. Not that there is anything wrong with snapshots, they serve a very specific and important role: To document things; where you’ve been, who you were with, what you’ve seen, etc. And that is perfectly fine. But maybe you want to do a little more with your photography. Because snapshots don’t often document, what you felt when you saw what you saw, or how you felt where you were. In addition, snapshots rarely make it to the wall as in being a photograph that you would like to print, frame and hang on your wall.

So, if you are interested here are a few tips intended to help you bridge that gap. This is not a photography course, nor does it cover every nook and cranny of street photography. But it may help you, by pointing your attention to things you haven’t thought of before, or that you perhaps needed being reminded of. You can basically pick and choose any, none or all of the following tips. They are simply meant to serve as inspiration.
